CFDEM Installation on a cluster

Submitted by vvvincent on Thu, 05/30/2019 - 02:52

Hi,

I am installing CFDEMcoupling on a cluster. OpenFOAM and LIGGGHTS were compiled in separately and they worked beautifully. However, when I input the command 'cfdemCompCFDEMsol', it shows errors like:

/opt/apps/gcc/6.3.0/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/6.3.0/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 when searching for libgcc_s.so.1

visualization of CFDEM results in Paraview

Submitted by shademani on Mon, 04/29/2019 - 20:59

Hello all,
I am a new CFDEM user and I would like to see the result of SolverIB in Paraview. I used "reconstructPar -noLagrangian " in CFD directory.
However, there is an error. Could you help me to understand what is my problem?
I have attached a shot screen from the error.

Anyone can save my fluidized bed sumulation

Submitted by zekunwang on Fri, 04/19/2019 - 05:16

Recently, I encountered a problem when simulating a fluidized bed with temperature convection. The expermental setups are strictly set according to the paper (See Exp.pdf), where powder diameter is 1mm, with 57296 sand particles in a 0.08m*0.015m*0.25m chamber, the CFD mesh is mad according to the published paper as well, which is 32*6*100. I chose model type A and Gidaspow drag force model and the solver cfdemSolverPisoScalar. However, the powder bed cannot be fluidized even the inlet gas velocity (1.2m/s) has already exceeded the fludized velocity.

Hi, everyone.
I try to execute a coupled simulation with the cfdemSolverIB after I use decomposePar to divide it into four processors. Unfortunately, I receive following error:

--> FOAM FATAL IO ERROR:
[3] keyword voidFractionModelProps is undefined in dictionary "xxx/CFD/processor0 (1,2,3)/constant/couplingProperties"
[3] file: xxx/CFD/processor0/constant/couplingProperties from line 0 to line 0.
