GNOME Syntax Highlighting

Philippe Seil (JKU) has written a language definition file for LIGGGHTS® to use for the Gnome text editor gedit. To install it (under ubuntu), you simply have to copy the file liggghts.lang (which can be found in the tarball attached to this page) to the appropriate folder:

  • for Gnome 2: /usr/share/gtksourceview-2.0/language-specs
  • for Gnome 3: /usr/share/gtksourceview-3.0/language-specs (thanks to Mark Bentley for the hint!)

After restarting all sessions of gedit, the syntax highlighting for LIGGGHTS® should be available under View - Highlight Mode - Scripts.

If you find out how to use this file on other distributions or on systems where you do not have root access, please tell us so we can add instructions to this page. Of course, feedback and bug reports are also welcome.

If you are looking for syntax highlighting in another editor, you can take a look at this thread. If you have written your own configuration for any editor, it would be great if you shared it with the community in the linked thread.
