Hi, I have a question about the inter-particle forces. Can I define an attraction force among particles? These particles will not contact with each other, but they can still subjected to this kind of force?

I am completely new in CFDEM. I have previously developed and coupled a CFD and a DEM model to simulate the scouring in front of breakwaters. Now I want to use CFDEM for this purpose because my model had some limitations. I wonder is there anyone here used CFDEM for sediment transport or scouring simulation? I appreciate if anyone could tell me where to begin.

I'm testing on the settlement of a single sphere using cfdemSolverPiso. The terminal velocity predicted by analytical model should be about 0.04 m/s. However, I got a velocity more than 0.1 m/s. I don't know what's wrong with my settings. Coud you please help me? I've attached my files in this post.

The voidfractionModel is bigParticle. The diameter and density of the sphere is 15 mm and 1120 Kg/m^3. The density and dynamic viscosity of the fluid is 970 Kg/m^3 and 373e-3 Ns/m^3.

I need to know how I can modify the fluid properties in an CFDEM simulation. I changed viscosity and density but after running the simulations I have got the same answer in different fluids with the same granular material.

I tried to insert the particles for the creation of the flat bed with the commands as create_atoms or insert/pack but did not succeed!
The created particles do not neighbour enough and the number of those do'nt enough.

Please help me.

Following the tutorial example, but the pressure drop didn't increase/decrease significantly (only 1 unit or less ) with the increase/decrease inlet velocity (0.01/0.1m/s). I know that the pressure is divided by rho, with a unit of m2/s2.
Could anyone give me idea why this happens?

I have just recently installed LIGGGHTS and CFDEM. I successfully run the available tutorial cases using both "cfdemTestTUT" and "./Allrun.sh" commands, it gave me some graphs and lists of numbers as a results.

But I still not sure how to present the results using paraview. Are all the available tutorial cases can be presented using paraview or only some of them?

I used paraview with Liggghts before and I also re-installed it with OPENFOAM again but I do not know if I need to set new alias again here to run these tutorials ?

I am a really new guy in Linux (Ubuntu) and coding as well. I have tried to compile CFDEM for my study for more than 2 months recently however it is really a tough job. I always get stucked on cfdemCompCFDEM step though I think I had followed strictly the instruction. After several removing and installing efforts, I decided to post my problem here and hope a support from some specialists here.

Hi ALL ! I was just wondering if some of you could help me out? Basically I want to run CFDEM on a cluster (runs on CentOS, I do not have root permission). OpenFoam finnaly runs. Trying to install CFDEM It took me a while to realize that I need to change the paths in the . bashrc file. However, when I do the cfdemSysTest I get something that open mpi is not there "The Open MPI wrapper compiler was unable to find the specified compiler
no in your PATH" ??? What am I doing wrong and ideas ??? Do I need to add something to the bashrc again ??? THANK YOU !!!
