(CFDEM Tutorial) Only error occurs on 'cfdemPostproc/fillCylinder'
Hi, I completed the installation of cfdem and tried to execute some tutorials. Then, I have two questions during the execution.
This is a forum dedicated to CFDEM®coupling using the LIGGGHTS® DEM code and OpenSource CFD.

Hi everybody, I'm running simulations of particles inside water and I'm having problems to specify the system properties.
I know that the keyword convertToMeters in blockMeschDict specify the units in wich the vertices are listed. But defines also the units in wich the rest of the system properties must be specified? I mean the units in which rho, viscosity, etc. must be specified.
I could see that kind of difference on the values of rho and the viscosity in the examples ErgunTestMpi and ErgunTestMpi_cgs.

Dear All
i am working on the Modeling of contaminated sediment transport in lake\river" i need help regarding the above cited subject please send me some guide line so that i can start the basic fundamentals of modeling which model is relevant for the above subject
thank you very much
Dear All,
with your great help I developed a ring shear test and it works quite well. Thanks again for your help.
I have installed gcc4.7.0, openmpi-1.6.5 and LIGGGGHTS-3.1.0, OpenFOAM-2.3.1, CFDEM-2.3.1. When I test under OpenFOAM and under LIGGGHTS, it works well. However, when I want to test ErgunTestMPI under CFDEM, some errors occur like below:
Create time
Create mesh for time = 0
Reading field p
Reading physical velocity field U
Note: only if voidfraction at boundary is 1, U is superficial velocity!!!
Reading momentum exchange field Ksl
Reading voidfraction field voidfraction = (Vgas/Vparticle)
Creating dummy density field rho
Hi all users,
I am simulating coupling of particles and water. Pore water pressure is an important item. Does anybody know how to calculate and output pore water pressure? Hope someone could give me a clue.
Thanks!

Dear CFDEM users,
I want to make sure that I take buoyant force into consideration in my CFDEM simualtion. So if I put gradPforce on, do I need to use Archemedes model? Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

Hello there, i'm a new user in CFDEM software and i'm having some issues with the compilation.
I'm trying to couple an Liggghts simulation based on the Continuous Blending Mixer Tutorial, with an CFD OpenFoam Simulation.
Because of the distanz between the two screws (< 2r), it is problematic to implement the rotation of the of the screws with dynamicMeshing in OpenFoam.
It might be possible, to solve this problem with Immersed Boundary Methodes (IBM) in OpenFoam. That means the two screws-STL-Files are implementated as boundrycondtition. That way, it is possible to use the same mesh with out changing it.
Hi all
I'm simulating the sediment transport by cfdemSolverInterFoam that I wrote. But I did not succeed yet!
I run a simple channel with a particle box with using this solver. The velocity increased in beginning and end of particle box and the direction of vectors was abnormal(please see the figures in attachments)!
I don't know its reason!
Looking forward to your ideas,
Thanks
