Post processing of LIGGGHTS®/CFDEM®coupling/ParScale based simulations is discussed here
Hi,
how to add pointsprite plugin
Please move to appropriate section.
I have a small simulation of particles flowing through a wire mesh structure, and I'm interested in calculating the mass flow rate and volume fraction of particles at certain cross sections. I *think* I understand how to calculate mass flow rate by setting up small regions and dumping particle count and velocity from that region. I assume that volume fraction works in a similar fashion, except I only need to know the size of my particles and my dump region.
Hi everyone!
This may be a simple question and probably I am missing something obvious but, after converting the files to vtk using the pizza tool, I am able to visualise the simulation with no problem, but I cannot find the way of seeing the forces, velocities or different radius in the particles. I try to insert the Glyph to try some suggestions that I have seen in the forum, but I am just able to select atom type.
What can I do? do I have to transform the files in pizza to another format? I am dumping all velocities and forces!
Thanks!!!
Hi everybody,
I am trying to visualise data in Paraview using the PointSprite plugin. However, when I switch the Point Sprite Mode to "Sphere", I get the following error message:
"ERROR: in /builddir/build/BUILD/ParaView-v4.0.1-source/VTK/Rendering/OpenGL/vtkOpenGLProperty.cxx, line 407
vtkPointSpriteProperty (0x486f0d0): Couldn`t build the shader program. At this point, it can be an error in a shader or a driver bug."
Hi everyone!
The problem I am facing now is the radius once the dump file is converted into VTK. The dump file I am trying to convert contains the information about the radius, but when I convert it using " d = dump("dump*.xxx") " it says all snapshots read and selected, but then for the assigned columns radius is missing while radius is not missing in the first dump file obtained straight from LIGGGHTS.
I hope you can help me with that one too.

Hello all! my name is Carles and I am facing a problem when it comes to visualize the results of my LIGGGHTS simulations in Paraview. The code seems to run with no problem, I dont get any error message and I obtain the dump.vtk file. When I open it in Paraview i can just see the CAD surface that I imported and nothing else. if I press play the simulation will run for the specified time but with no particles and, according to the outputs, 349 particles have been inserted.
Any help would be appreciated!!
Carles
Dear all,
Hi everybody,
Do you know where can I download the pizza-16Mar09?
I worked with this version of pizza, I upgrade the computer and I delete (error) this folder.
The website of Sandia Lab has not this version.
Thanks!
oliver
Dear all,
I ran the example named "insert stream" , everything went fine. Then I used the supplied "postscript" script to
convert the dump (.stream) files into VTK format - that worked fine as well.
Then, I loaded the .stl and the .vtk files into Paraview, however as you can see in the attached picture
The particles are displaced from the geometry
and there seems to be some scaling issue - the geometry looks too big for the bounding box of the particles.
Hi everybody!
I built paraview with shared libs, and I installed liggghts-reader. In the first attempt everything was alright, but now a problem have appeared. Instead of the particle assembly a cross of particles is displaying in my Paraview 4.0
Truly yours,
David
