add a new drag model in CFDEM coupling

Submitted by ljmutue on Thu, 06/28/2018 - 18:10

Hi all,

I want to add a new drag model in CFDEMcoupling. and the steps I followed are:
1. create a new folder named with the model in .../subModels/forceModel, and copy .C and .H files to the folder.
2. Modify the files file in the Make-folder by including the new model following scheme of the already existing ones ($(forceModels)/myNewModel/myNewModel.C)
3.recompile with "wclean" and "wmake libso"
When I compile I get the next errors:

Failed to allocate memory

Hello All,

This is Min.

I am running two cases and the ONLY difference is they use different particle insertion approaches.

The simulation settings including both geometry and simulation parameters are almost the same as the one in this post:
https://www.cfdem.com/forums/cfdem-floating-point-exception-when-startin...

Also, the only difference is about the particle insertion.

Hello All,

I am simulating a particle-fluid flow case using cfdemPisoSolver.

My physical problem is like this.

The geometry is a cylinder (D1=6" and L=30cm) and there is a hole (D2=3/8") on the side of the cylinder.

extending twoSpheresGlowinskiMPI

Hello,

I'm working on the CFDEMcoupling and I'm using the cfdemIbSolver. I'm very much interested in the twoSpheresGlowinskiMPI tutorial. I want to be able to do this example and add a magnetic force to the particles. But for now i have just started with the basic example. I have succesfully run the tutorial but now I would like to change some things in the example.

Hi,everyone!
Now,i want to install CFDEM-coupling, but there is error. The version I compiled is OF-5.x + liggghts-3.8.0 + CFDEM-3.8.0.I followed the steps of the official website installation strictly,I made the following error while compiling "cfdemCompCFDEMsol". now i have no idea.who can help me ?Thanks for you help.
ace@114:~/Desktop$ cfdemCompCFDEMsol
rm: cannot remove ‘log/log_compile_results_sol_fail’: No such file or directory

This routine will compile the solvers specified in solver-list.txt

fvOptions isn't working in CFDEM coupling

hi,everyone !
I'm a newcomer to CFDEM. I try to amend a case for FSI.I want to add fvOptions to drive fluid, but fvOptions isn't working.so i want to know why .I use interDyMFoam solver in CFD side. who can help me? Thanks for you help. Here is a part of log file:

Reconstruct CFD processors folders (post-processing for Paraview)

Submitted by limone on Mon, 06/04/2018 - 13:38

Dear All,

I am trying to "put together" automatically all the "processor" folders (from "processor 0" to "processor 576" in /home/....../CFD) in order to have just one folder to open in Paraview and see all my simulation data together....... I am following the instructions of Paul (Wed, 03/14/2018 - 12:57) from a previous post: https://www.cfdem.com/forums/paraview-visualization-hpc-simulation-modif...

Which means trying to use:

Particle Settling

Submitted by joaopfc on Sun, 06/03/2018 - 00:37

Hello, Ive been working on a very simple case that I intend to use to measure the angle of repose of a particle heap. The simulation runs fine, however, I cant get the coupling to work for the particle insertion/settling, its only using LIGGGHTS for it, which I think might influence the initial height of the heap (before the stopper is pulled). Once the stopper is removed and the heap starts collapsing, the coupling kicks in. Ive attached the case if its any help.
Thanks in advance
