Hi,

I am new to LIGGGHTS . I tried to create lmp_auto executable, when I run the command make auto the terminal gives me the error "Could not compile VTK example with ...... " Kindly someone help me solve the problem. I downloaded VTK via homebrew on my macOS and gave the path in Makefile.user correctly

My Makefile.user VTK details,

VTK_INC_USR=-I/usr/local/Cellar/vtk/8.1.1_2/include/vtk-8.1
# Path that contains the VTK libraries
VTK_LIB_USR=-L/usr/local/Cellar/vtk/8.1.1_2/lib

What should I do. Please help me.

I need to simulate a conveyor that is moving in a given direction.
The image of the geometries are attached.
The red geometry is the insertion face. The blue is the conveyor.
I need to fill all the six funnels (green). The conveyor (blue) and the insertion face (red) have to move in a given velocity in the x axis.
I used the command mesh/surface to the conveyor and the insertion face and then tried to set move/mesh in the both. LIGGGHTS returned the error:

I would like to read data of particles from multiple files, is it possible to do this? So right now for example I have a restart file with a "baseline" case that I would like to combine with a text file.

Right now I tried running:
read_data particle_wall.csv
read_restart restart.1

I am trying to recompile LIGGGHTS after applying some modifications in the input.cpp file, but I could not manage doing that unless I changed the (USE_VTK = "ON") to "OFF" in the Makefile.user, as I was getting the following error :

I try to install LIGGGHTS on OpenSuse but do not know how to install VTK as done for Ubuntu

Ubuntu:
sudo apt-get install openmpi-bin libopenmpi-dev libvtk6.2 libvtk6-dev

I'm trying to install liggghts version 3.8.0 on a cluster together with vtk. I changed in the Makefile.user such that VTK_LIB_USR and VTK_LIB_USR is set.
So for me it looks like this:
VTK_INC_USR=-I/vcc/homes/mfarzane/compilers/vtk/include/vtk-7.1
VTK_LIB_USR=-L/vcc/homes/mfarzane/compilers/vtk/lib

I can see that vtkVersion.h is in /vcc/homes/mfarzane/compilers/vtk/include/vtk-7.1 but it still doesnt work. I can also see that there is a lot of files in /vcc/homes/mfarzane/compilers/vtk/lib

Hi all,

I have a system containing both spherical and non-spherical particles. I am using nve/sphere integrator for spherical particles and multisphere integrator for non-spherical particles. however, the multi-sphere particles do not respond to any fix command that set them to motion (no movement,no velocity, and no force). Do you have any idea what can be the problem?

“What are the equations and forces that are sticking the particles to each other to form a non spherical particle by using multisphere method? what are the forces that keep the constituent particles of a rigid body together?”
and what are the equations of DEM for multishpere because it is in not clear in this link "https://www.cfdem.com/media/DEM/docu/gran_model_hertz.html" that what value of R (radius) is used for multisphere?
