region tet/mesh command

Submitted by alvriver on Wed, 04/26/2017 - 15:11

Hi!

I trying to use a particular STL volume like a particle generation region using the command "tet/mesh", but I'm having problems. The "tet/mesh" command ask me to use a "ASCII VTK file", so, I'm using PV to convert my STL volume to the VTK file, but this apparently doesn't works.

region bc mesh/tet file meshes/EmisorVTK2.vtk scale 0.001 side in units box

When I compile this, the program tell me:

How to get mass of particles in specific region ???

Hello everyone,

I am doing simulation of roller compactor. I want to calculate density of material which flow throw screw augers. For this I need a mass of particles, which are in defined region at different time steps. So I am wondering which command can give me a mass of particles in defined region for example every 10 000 time steps???

You can find picture in attachment. Picture is showing in which region I want to know mass of particles.

Best regards Neven.

Problem with refix wall/gran

Submitted by digi772 on Wed, 04/19/2017 - 17:39

Hi everybody,

currently i am trying to simulate a bucket elevator. I am interested in the forces on the buckets.
To speed up the simulation i import the buckets as soon as they are needed. Therefore I have to unfix and refix the meshes with the wall/gran fix.

The force on the buckets are written to a file with the ave/time fix.
If I take a carefull look at the results, I can find a jump in the forces every time i unfix and refix the wall/gran command.
