Sorry for the trivial question, but I am new and I am not able to install LIGGGHTS on my Windows laptop. I tried to follow the instructions written here: https://www.cfdem.com/media/DEM/docu/Section_start.html but I they are not very clear to me. Can anybody help me? Any advice will be useful, thanks.

Use CFDEM(R)workbench Starter
I would suggest to obtain the free CFDEM(R)workbench Starter https://www.dcs-computing.com/order-product?product=13868 as it comes with a pre-compiled LIGGGHTS(R) executable and (as far as I know) with a Microsoft MPI Library.
To build LIGGGHTS from source you need some expert knowledge about CMake, MPI for Windows, VTK and Visual Studio ...

follow other thread
Hello,
for native building in windows (troublesome but possible) please refer to this thread. The steps outlined in the thread allowed me to compile liggghts on windows 10.
HOWEVER, I would strongly recommend using WSL 2 on windows when using LIGGGHTS. This is what I use now as it is easier to recompile and incorporate the CFDEM coupling (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-win10#manual-instal...).

If possible, switch over to
If possible, switch over to Linux.
It's just a matter of few commands for installation of most the open-source codes on linux plateform
Thank you!
