[belongs to bug #2] dump stl bug?

Submitted by tkulju on Tue, 08/16/2011 - 13:08

Hi!
I've noticed a strange behavior in dump stl command. For example the line

dump dumpstl all stl 10000 post/dump*.stl

writes two endsolid-lines in the end of the every written .stl file. I have a rotating geometry, where I have static and rotational part, which both have their own stl-files. For post-processing this is not a problem, but for restarting purposeses it's a bit annoying.

I see - thanks for letting us know. Do you perform these simulations in parallel or in serial? I am currently out of office and will have a closer look at this in weeks.

Cheers, Christoph

I'm running the cases on parallel.

I've got also another problem. When I try to restart the case (after modifying the .stl-files with sed), I'm getting the dangerous builds message quite often. I guess the restarted case wall and the particles overlap. Any suggestions how to circumvent/fix this problem?

Thanks,

Timo

btw: for restarting you do not need the dump stl file, the current state is stored in the restart file
