[belongs to bug #1] wall/gran/.... style mesh/gran

Submitted by r.jabakhanji on Fri, 07/29/2011 - 00:51

Hi guys,

I hope you are well.

The wall style mesh/gran for wall/gran/... seems to be transparent to particles. i tried modifying skin size, time step, young's modulus, nothing is working. The particles go through the mesh as if it were not there!

I checked it on the example "chute_wear" same behavior!

Any ideas? I am stuck :(

Hi rami,

what version are you using? did you have a look at the comma separator settings on your system? have you tried to replace all "." by "," in the STL file or vice versa? If you are using 1.3.3 could you please try 1.2.9 as well and see if the behavior is the same?

Cheers,
Christoph

Hi Christoph,

I am using 1.3.3, i also tried it on 1.2.9, same behavior. Regional settings are "." decimal placeholder, and "," for thousands, i tried to replace "." with "," which made importing .stl crash, as expected.

I am wondering if it could be some compiler behavior, if the code has something that is not exactly ansi standard and each compiler is dealing with it differently. I am using intel compiler with mpich2, i have also tried g++, same behavior.

Any thoughts, is it working on your end?

Regards,

Rami
