Hello all,
I would like to simulate growth and reduction of particles.
So, I insert particles on system I defined and relax the particles with hertz contact model and cohesion model.
After then, growth and reduction of particles start by using diameter change rates.
As a result, I could get the system volume change during the diameter changing.
I also want to know the volume changes under specific pressure.
I tried to use NPT calculate and addforce/aveforce command to set pressure on the system, however, I failed.
Can you let me know how to set the pressure?
Thanks in advance,
Janne

Hi Janne, you can try CFD-DEM

Hello Jacob,
Hello Jacob,
Thanks for the reply.
The system I used for simulation is a cube, not a pipe or silo, and the particles are settled in the box, not flowing.
So, I think that CFD modeling is not necessary for this analysis.
Let me explain more details.
The cube system has p p s boundary and packed particles grow and shrink repeatedly.
I would like to set Z direction external pressure.
Is there any method to set the external pressure on the system?
Thanks,
Janne
