I just want to make sure that my restart files using v. 3.3.1 will be able to run on v. 3.5? I'm trying to make sure my personal simulation files will be able to run on my school's distributed server after they perform an upgrade (they currently run 3.1, which I know is NOT backwards compatible).

we can not guarantee backward compatibility of restart files. You can either continue to use the version that generated the restart file for that project; re-run the simulation to generate the restart file with the current version; or just try to load the restart file of the old version with the current version, with no guarantee what will happen :-)
