Hello, Christophe, Hello all,
Is elasto-plastic pair style implemented in Liggghts? Thank you
Cheers,
Zyan

Hi zyan,
Hi zyan,
which model do you mean in particular?
Christoph

Hi Christoph,
Hi Christoph,
i mean elastic-plastic model counts for plastic deformation at contact for soft particles. not the epsd model for rolling torque.
Here i gave one example:
the contat force Fp = 6c^2*σy*R0*h; where the constant c^2 = 1.43 for ideally plastic material behavior, σy: yeild stress.
Ref. C.L. Martin, Elasticity, fracture and yielding of cold compacted metal powders,Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, vol. 52, pp. 1691-1717, 2004.
Do you have someting similar?
Cheers,
Zilin

At the moment we're working
At the moment we're working with the developers of this model
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0032591014005415
to get this into LIGGGHTS, but there is no time-tine for release yet.
But simple plastic deformation models should be pretty easy/straight forward to implement
best wishes
Christoph
