Hello,
I was watching the non-spherical pouring movie in the 'features' section. I was wondering where I could find an input file example for that. I don't seem to see it in my examples folder...
Thanks!

Multisphere
Hello Zamir,
to my knowledge, the multisphere method is not yet released because it is still in the process of testing and validation.

multisphere
I may be able to help with testing and validation. I have recently started a phd project and I was going to likely write a class that combines ellipsoidal and granular particle atom and pair styles. If the multisphere approach is available, it would save me a lot of time, as well as provide validation to the multisphere approach. If any developer is reading this and is interested, reply to this post and perhaps we can get in contact.

Multisphere is not released - as all new features, it will be highlighted in the release notes when the time has come.

Hi to All,
Hi to All,
I would like to simulate flexible fibers, and I don't know if the mulstisphere option is released or not? Is there any one who is simulation non-spherical particle?

You could try to extend the
You could try to extend the existing fix rigid to account for flexible fibers. This is a problem we haven't touched yet, but have plans for this for the future

Cluster non-overlapping spheres together
Hi Christoph,
I did the similar work with another DEM code by clumping overlapping spheres together.
Since the feature is not yet available, it is possible to bond a group of non-overlapping but contacting spheres together as a rigid body or breakable body using the existing packing generation?
Liggghts packing generation.

Neat! Was the first one generated using Cogency's code or something else?
Thanks,

not the Cogency's code, but
not the Cogency's code, but the Itasca PFC3D in which clump (group of overlapping spheres acting as rigid body) and cluster (bonding non-overlapping spheres together and can be broken ) are supported.
In Liggghts , is it possible to cluster spheres together as a non-sphere particle by using fix rigid?

Hi Long,
Hi Long,
>>In Liggghts , is it possible to cluster spheres together as a non-sphere particle by using fix rigid?
yes, but fix rigid does not allow overlapping particles (wrong intertia tensor). At the moment, the multisphere feature in is currently available in a collaboration partner version of LIGGGHTS.
As that question already arose a couple times, we'll announce a list of features with a release schedule in the first term of 2013.
Cheers, Christoph
