CFDEM coupling memory requirements

Hi,

I am running into memory issues running cfdem on a cluster. I wanted to know if there is a way to estimate memory requirement of a simulation.

My current case is an 18" sphere with one inlet on side and one outlet on top. I was wandering if the size of the sphere could influence the memory requirements of the simulation and if yes then how. Is there any method to find an estimate of memory requirements?
If my simulation asks for more memory than what is defined on the cluster then it will crash and stop.

Thanks,
Mohsen

Thank you Omid, but I mean RAM requirements. If I understand correctly your point is the write intervals and space required to save data.

Thanks,
Mohsen

Hi Mohsen,

if I got you correctly you only have one sphere in your domain, so the LIGGGHTS memory requirements should be neglectable.
Then it only depends on the number of cells within your CFD-grid. My guess is, that you will not get into any trouble here. If you turn on the clock-Model in the couplingProperties, you should see a RAM overview in the end of the case output.

Did you ever run into an out-of-memory error on your cluster??

Cheers
