Dear All

Is there any command to define "dynamic friction coefficient" between particles

Hi Esmaeil,

I am not sure what exactly you refer to with "dynamic friction coefficient"

Cheers

hi

fix m4 all property/global coefficientFriction peratomtypepair 1 0.2
It seems like this fix class could solve the definition of friction coefficient. Dynamic coefficient, you mean that the coeff will be modified during every step. I think you can combine fix unfix command to modify the coefficient.

Hi strathclyde,

no the coefficient is not changed every time-step by default. You can do this by implementing your own normal/tangential model

Best wishes

Dear All

Please kindly see below paper:

“Transversal bed motion in rotating drums using spherical particles: Comparison of experiments with DEM simulations” Powder Technology 264 (2014) 96–104

which is defined Dynamic coefficient of friction as well as Static coefficient of friction.
