Hi everybody,
I had started out with LIGGGHTS a while ago, and know a few basic commands. I would like to know if it is possible to add mass (or) density for that matter, to any of our imported geometries. eg I am importing a box (.stl geometry) and pouring particles inside it , but i also require the box to be of a particular mass. Is there a way to do it ? , or are there any other alternate solutions ? Kindly help.
thanks

Hi
Hi Anand,
you just need to define a mass for inertia effects or gravity effects. In the public version you can just move the geometries with a certain velocity. The premium version contains an additional command for geometries, where you can add a mass to the geometry and it moves under gravity and inertia forces.

Thanks a lot Joshua, that
Thanks a lot Joshua, that really helped me. Also, in the premium version can we compute quantities like for eg. resultant acceleration or displacement of the geometry that was affected due various particle interactions that was in it ?
thanks and regards

Hi anand,
Hi anand,
per default mass is considered to be infinite - which is ok as long as you do not consider 6DOF motion of the mesh
Best wishes
