void fraction model - Divided or Gauss

Hi,

I'm trying to simulate the heat trasnfer in a cylindrical chamber filled with particles. The particles are slightly bigger than the mesh cell. At the very maximum, a particle could span across 8 cfdMeshCellCenters at a time. So, I'm confused about the void fraction model to be used - especially between Divided and Gauss Model.

In the manual, the Gauss model was mentioned to be ideal for cases where particles are bigger than the CFD cells. On the other hand, the divided model was mentioned to be ideal for cases when a particle is in the size range of a CFD cell. Since my case is close to both these descriptions, can someone suggest me which would be perfect to go with?

I am attaching an image for giving an idea of the particle and the CFD cell size.

Thank You.

Yesaswi.
