Use of inserted particles in small region for fill a larger region

Submitted by elham.nasiri on Sat, 04/18/2015 - 11:50

Hi all,
I going to insert very high particles in bed of channel. But inserting of particles in a large region is very time consuming. Can I use inserted particle in small region for fill a larger region? how do I expand these particles to the total region?

Thanks
Elham

Elham,

I don't understand the question. Are you referring to filling a subspace with particles and then replicating this through the full volume, or filling with very small particles and then growing the particles to fill the available space? Or something else entirely?

Regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I'm going to do the first case, filling a subspace with particles and then replicating this through the full volume.

Elham

Dear Elham

Please see packing examplein Liggghts, I think it can provide good idea for you.

Hi
Thanks Esmaeil, but I'm going to fill a subspace with particles and then replicating this through the full volume not growing the particles.

Dear Chris,
I inserted the particles (by insert stream) and then used replicate command for duplicating them but there is a error, can't replicate because of fix atoms properties.

Please let me know if you know it's reason.
Thanks
Elham
