Turbulent Prandtl Number (Prt)

Hi all,

I have been using the cfdemSolverPisoScalar solver for my simulations of packed bed heat transfer, and I have a question concerning the turbulent prandtl number (Prt) when it is set in the ./CFD/constant/transportProperties file.

I have found in literature that Prt is typically between 0.7 and 0.9, however in the /cfdemSolverPisoScalar/packedBedTemp example case, it has Prt = 1e15. This is more than just a small difference obviously.

I was hoping someone would have some insight in to why this would be the case? Is it done on purpose to perhaps neglect turbulent thermal diffusivity?

Kind regards,
Robert

Edit - I also see that in CFD/0/alphat that the Prt for the walls is set to the more expected 0.85 value, but am still unsure why Prt is defined (differently) in /CFD/constant/transportProperties.
