Triaxial test, membrane, rigid cylinder wall servo, periodic servo wall

Hi there,

There are several problems bother me when I am trying to conduct a numerical triaxial test simulation.
First, does anyone know how to simulate a membrane used as confine condition in liggghts. I have a code for PFC which uses parallel bond, but parallel bond is not avaliable for public version now. Is there another way?
Second, liggghts has servo wall commands that can auto-adjust the pressure on a servo wall. I am wonderding whether the fix mesh/surface/stress/servo command can be used with a rigid cylinder mesh wall, since it needs to shrink or expand in radius direction when adjusting the pressure.
Third, dose any one realize the periodic servo wall condition? I know it from the PHD thesis of HuangXing, and find it hard to implement in liggghts, because source code needs to be mordified largely. Can anyone share the code or give some hint on the modification?

Any pertinent suggestion and hint are great appreciate.
Thank you all.

Hi zhou_yu ,

no LIGGGHTS does not have the membrane BC built in as PFC has. One possibility would be to slightly modify the servo wall feature so it shrinks/grows instead of linear motion. But still this would be different from a true memrane boundary condition which is much more difficult. If you do have funding availabe to do the implementation (~0.5 person years), we'll be happy to do so! (just send a message via contact us in this case)
