sub-domain definition

Dear LIGGGHTS users and developers,

I am trying to create an intial packing strucutre of three different size particles: 1, 10, 50. The numbers of particles are 100 (D=1), 10 (D=10), 3(D=50) and the initial volume fraction is 0.15. I have tried two insert command:

1. fix ins all insert/pack seed 32452867 distributiontemplate pdd1 vel contant 0.0 0.0 0.0 insert_every once overlapcheck yes all_in yes
particles_in_region 113 region bc

After particle insertion finishes, I found the numbers of particles in the box are 97(D=1), 8(D=10), 8(D=50), the total number of paricles is the same with my setting, but the number of individual size class differs from my setting. Could you please tell me the possible reason?

2. fix ins all insert/rate/region seed 32452867 distributiontemplate pdd1 nparticles 113 particlerate 150000 insert_every 1000 overlapcheck no vel constant 0. 0. -1.0 region bc ntry_mc 10000

The inserted numbers of particles are still 97(D=1), 8(D=10), 8(D=50).

Besides, I changed the diameter of the biggest particle from 50 to 80. The reported WARNING message: sub-domain is smaller than the bounding radius of insert particles to insert: Max. bounding sphere diameter is 80.00000, sub-domain extent in z direction is only 87.703850.

Could you tell me how to deal with this problem? How to define the size of sub-domain in LIGGGHTS?

Thank you in advance.

Best wishes,
June
