Stress control, membrane walls, triaxial compression simulation

Hi,

There were these two posts a while back:

node/100
node/193

but no updates since. I think that there is plenty of interest in the geomechanics community for stress control and membrane walls and I am wondering if these are still in the development pipeline.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,

stress controlled walls are to come soon, with a basic version in the next release. As for the membrane walls, we have thought about how to do it (so there is an implementation plan) but we currently don't have any project which would allow us to allocate an appropriate amount of time for it. If anybody is interested in doing that, I can share that plan

Cheers, Christoph

Just FYI, stress-controlled walls won't be in 2.2 to be released soon - we need to do some more tests. But it's definitely to come soon

Dear Christoph
have stress controlled walls been released? as I know the fix command mesh/surface/stress/servo only controls target force.
I will be grateful if you explain this.
Kind regards
Tala

Hi Tala,
mesh/surface/stress/servo is force/stress controlled! you just have to divide the force by the contact area...

best wishes
Christoph
