I wonder what is the difference between these two types. The sph examples available with LIGGGHTS use the 'sph' type, but the examples in SPH LAMMPS userguide use the 'meso' type.

LIGGGHTS vs LAMMPS models
LAMMPS and LIGGGHTS provide implementations of different sph models that require different atom properties. Basically, for the LAMMPS models you use meso (density, energy, heat capacity), for the LIGGGHTS models you use sph (density, pressure).
