Although liggghts runs perfectly well, just need some advice on how to optimise runs for speed (particularly for granular flows with many particles).

Hi Brian,
this question is too complex to be answered generally - the answer depends on the problems you are interested in:
physical models, particle sizes / size ratios, load balancing issues, neighbor list build ...
My advice is to get yourself a basic knowledge of how DEM algorithms works. If you have a general idea, the manual will guive advices how to do things properly - alternatively you can also request our consulting if you have specific requests,
