Is it possible to simulate pure scalar transport with cfdemSolverPisoSTM (i.e. species transport without heat transport).
The tutorials only feature combined heat and species transport.

It definitely is, but would
It definitely is, but would require either
a) modification of the forceModel scalarGeneralExchange by removing some of the heat flux sanity checks
or
b) including dummy heat transport, as heat transport does not affect species transport.
I would recommend option b).
