Hi all,
I want to simulate a granular flow in a shear cell. Therefore I have a axis-symmetric geometry. To save computing time I want to simulate only a quarter of the ringshaped geometry by using quarter periodic boundary conditions in angular direction. Is there a possibility to use such a boundary condition in the current build?
Thanks

Hi Yansan, The periodic
Hi Yansan,
The periodic boundary is available in LIGGGHTS. You dont need ring-shaped geometry for saving computing time. Read boundary command in doc pages.

There is the possibility to use "triclinic" simulation boxes for that - but many features will not work work them - simply because no one coded that yet.
And be aware that "quarter" bcs do not make perfectly sense under some conditions- if you have a particle in the corner, should it interact with itself?
