pressure

Hi all,

I was wondering, if one of you could help me out.
A) I have some issues simulating flow through a porous medium. I do have a box, with cyclic boundaries, densely filled with particles. At the top of the box I installed a servo wall to keep the entire system under pressure. I use 2 way coupling. So here comes my problem. Similar to a fluidized bed case when I apply a vertical velocity at the bottom of the box, pressure builds up and particles are moved vertically as expected. However, the other way round when I force some particles to move into that direction I can not observe any pressure buildup in the hydrodynamic part at all. I also tested this with a single sphere. In the case when I force the sphere by a boundary of the fluid model everything is fine and the sphere is lifted. However, when I force a sphere to move in the DEM, I can not observe any pressure build up, by the sphere.

B) IOne can use the Bigparticle void fraction model only with the IB solver right ?
Thank you very much for your help

Best wishes H
