Is LIGGGHTS enable to model the fracture of particles? such as what happens in a ball mill?

yes and no
in older versions there has been a fix particle/breakage but it did not get into liggghts>2, user rahulsoni and me ported the code to 2.3.x, it can be found here:
https://github.com/rahulksoni/LIGGGHTS-PUBLIC
But I don't know if it is still usefull - I never used it and only gave hints about the c++ problems :-). Pls ask Rahul Kumar Soni directly.

Discrete fragmentation method
I'm currently working on the implementation of a particle fragmentation model based on Weibull statistics (see e.g. Bruchmüller et al., Modelling discrete fragmentation of brittle particles, Powder Technology, 2011). A ball mill is an excellent example of application for this model. With a bit of luck it will become publicly available in the near future.
