Dear community, I'm proud to present the first prototype of a GUI for LIGGGHTS(R) running on Windows(R):
http://youtu.be/tJ5OIVNyz-g
This is a pure hobby project, but I can not give it away for free. This is why I started a crowdfunding project at http://igg.me/at/liggghts-launcher .
When I get enough Backers, I'll add some fancy improvements like syntax highlighting and a OpenGL render view based on ParaView API.
When you are a company and say 'Hey we would like to support you, but we need an invoice', no problem, I have a german tax number and can give you a bill including VAT. Please contact me.
Have a nice day,
Christian
Of course my changes to LIGGGHTS(R) code will become public according to GPL, but the GUI is an independent project and will never be released as opensource.

A turning point
Hi Christian,
Your work is obviously impressive. I believe your GUI will be highly welcomed by industry community. I will spread this to my friends and colleagues. But I think you can add more clips recording several products or visualization based on your GUI. That might be clearer to see how it work, especially for those who not familiar with LIGGGHTS.

LIGGGHTS workbench
Just in case you are not aware of it: DCS is offering a cross-platform GUI, which covers pretty much all steps involved in developing a LIGGGHTS case - starting from geometry creation and simulation setup/runs to post-processing. See http://www.dcs-computing.com/liggghtsrworkbench for details.

LIGGGHTS workbench
Yes I'm aware of this. How much is the annual fee for an academical and for an industrial basic license ?

to make sth. clear ..
This project is not aimed to be competitive with LIGGGHTS(R) Workbench. I will not make a click-and-run script Generator or a high end 3D visualisation. I acknowledge the work of DCS Computing in releasing liggghts for free (use) and the famous work in the past 5 years (happy birthday LIGGGHTS(R) !).
The launcher project is for all the people who never worked with linux and commandline tools. It is great for rapid prototyping of scripts and for teaching LIGGGHTS(R) scripting language.
I decided to add a new perk for accademic affiliates / PHD students for only 100 EUR [1]. I think this is a fair offer.
When I reach my funding goal you get the final version with syntax highlighting and smooth ParaView integration. When I don't reach my goal I release the current prototype as precompiled binary to all contributers regardless to the amount they donated.
