Installation and running tutorials

Hello,

I am a new user to CFDEM, OpenFOAM and LIGGGHTS. I have installed version 3.0.1 but when I open the terminal it shows me an error saying the version is not compatible. I have already tried installing different versions of LIGGGHTS and OpenFOAM and CFDEM too. But there is always an error. The installation procedure given on the website seems to be for older versions. Could anyone please tell me the exact versions of the softwares I will need to install (and possibly the installation manual pertaining to it) ? Also I have installed liggghts 3.4.0 but when I run the tutorial, there is no vtk file which I can open in paraview. I am sorry if my questions are very basic. I hope someone will be able to help

Hello ganeshm,
I would recommend to start over with the installation following this instruction:
https://www.cfdem.com/media/CFDEM/docu/CFDEMcoupling_Manual.html#install...
It has been updated with the last release. Generally it is important to say that CFDEM(R)coupling and LIGGGHTS(R) version have to match and given that every new release comes with a lot of improvements I'd recommend to use the latest (3.7.0). You'll automatically get the latest version from git if you follow the above instructions. The current default version of OpenFOAM is 3.0.x (compatibility in terms of compilation is also given for other versions, see manual, but these versions are more or less untested).
Cheers,
Alice
