Can anyone suggest a method for inserting particles of range 50-100 micrometer in to a cylindrical container until the container is full.

I think You can consider the whole cylinder as your insertion region and insert_every specific time step until the cylinder is full.

insert/pack
The
insert/pack fixhas the option to continue inserting until a certain volume fraction is reached. This is perfect if you don't really mind that the particles are generated inside the cylinder, for example for initialization. If you really want the particles to pour from the top until a certain volume fraction, your in for a bigger challenge. (;
