Dear all
In LIGGGHTS, I want to model a servo wall that compact particles till a specified stress is acting on the mesh. how can I do this? is it possible by mesh/surface/stress/servo??? as I know this fix cotrolls total force acting on the mesh.
any help would be appreciated.

Hi Tala,
Hi Tala,

yes!

Dear Christoph
Dear Christoph
Hi
as I studied on the docs about this command
"This fix implements the functionality of fix mesh/surface/stress but it additionally assumes the mesh being a servo wall that compacts a particle packing until either a total force (for ctrlPV = force) or a total torque (for ctrlPV = torque) is acting on the mesh."
and I think this command can control total force or torque only?
am I true?
Thanks.

Hi Tala,
Hi Tala,
The fix does not calculate the area of contact.
If you know the cross sectional area, you can calculate/estimate the required total force for your desired stress.

my sectional area is varying
my sectional area is varying through running the program. is there any possibility to have box's dimension as a variable through running? . I mean is it possible to have the coordination of vertices of simulation box are as variables? .
I had defined the triangular meshes for my box's walls.
Thanks a lot
