Fixing maximum overlap between particles

Hello,

I want to restrict the overlap between particles to 1 % of particle diameter.
Is it possible to achieve this in LIGGGHTS without tweaking Kn values? May be I missed some feature/fix?

what should happen if they reach this overlap? A direct seperation like in event driven DEM? Or a stiffer behaviour like Hertz model?
If you want a direct seperation I would assume that you can not reach a settled state or it would take longer.

Hi Vinay,

this is a typical application to implement your own contact model! Just use any of the existing (hertz, hooke) as starting point and modify it!
