these two lines are responsible for the coupling between CFD and DEM code. "10" means that the coupling is carried out every 10 DEM-time steps.

actually you can ignore this ten for the MPI based coupling, it has mor a "historical" than useful background!

Because the coupling interval
Because the coupling interval is actually defined in the CFDEM coupling properties, right? So here the definition inside Liggghts script is ignored.
