Hi everybody,
The visualisation of force chain networks is a great thing.
According to the release notes, the above mentioned dump commands were included into liggghts 3.4. I installed L 3.4.1.
But when i use them, i always get the message that those are invalid dump styles. I am wondering if someone can give me a hint what is wrong.
The new dump style requires compiling liggghts with the VTK libs. I have adjusted the liggghts makefile (lmp_fedora_vtk_fpic) and linked to the VTK libraries that come with ParaView. The compilation fails as a few links were not set correctly... (see log file attached).
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks in advance!

you need to compile liggghts
you need to compile liggghts with vtk support, first install vtk6-devel and than use makefile ubuntuVTK6 and check the links in the makefile to system-vtk library (normely /usr/include/vtk(-6.X)/)

Hi Richi,
Hi Richi,
thanks a lot, this was the info i needed. Liggghts compiled well and dump local/gran/vtk worked great.
The only thing i am curious about is why cfdem does not compile with makefile ubuntuVTK6.
Did you get it work?
Thanks in advance.

Invalid dump style (../output.cpp:598)
I encountered the same problem.
I set the link in Ubuntu makefile as well. However, my vtk -verision in usr/include is vtk-5.10 and I set it. However, it is still not working.
Therefore, it should be the version of VTK problem?

CFDEMcoupling
Hi!
For CFDEMcoupling you have to adapt the additionalLibs and most probabely you have to add the corresponding make-files for special sub-models. (Try to search for fedora)
I am out of office, but I can check this the next days.

Hi Zhao,
Hi Zhao,
we just uploaded the documentation. It slipped through under our radar. Thanks for pointing it out.

the width of tube cannot be scaled to scalar
Hi Arnom,
As I used the this function as instructed, the tube cannot be scaled to any quantities which bothers a lot. Could you please check this again?

Lumb

Hi Lumb
Hi Lumb,
I am wondering have your problem solved. I also met the same problem and I cannot scale the width of force chain just using VTK files. Could you please give me any clues about how you realize this function? Thank you very much.
Best,
Zheng
