Hi everyone,
I have been using Liggghts for a few months now and have understood how it seems to work. I am now looking to create a custom contact model to solve a particular problem which requires a friction contact model that considers a viscous component. I have read the documentation for the current models and they do not suit. I have also understood that I need to copy and modify an existing .h model file in C++ code to do this. Is there any guidance available (hoping for an outline, tree, or schematic etc.) for a contact model file that I could use? Looking at is a little confusing... I don't have any C++ knowledge but have programmed in Python and VB.net so understand basics of coding...i think(!).
Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi nasser225,
Hi nasser225,
there are bacsically 2 suggested ways of doing it:
(i) studying how the existing implementations work, copy and modify
(ii) you can also visit one of our trainings, where this is covered
best wishes
Christoph
