Hi, All:
I am trying to simulate the compression of a porous media cylinder region, the cylinder is initially filled with particles and water, the particles are settled to gravity and buoyancy force, after the settlement is done, a porous stone is then applied at the top with a constant force/stress to compress the particle assembly (very similar to the soil consolidation problem described in here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consolidation_(soil), the deformation of the particle assembly will be large), and therefore it appear to me that the entire fluid region will be compressed while I am moving the porous stone, I am just wondering if this is possible to simulate this procedure using the existing CFDEM, do I need to (or is it possible) to dynamically change the mesh geometry to reflect the compression of the fluid region? Do I need to use a dynamic mesh?
Thanks a lot for any suggestions!
Roy
