"command not found" error

Submitted by libo9562 on Sun, 07/22/2018 - 21:50

Hello all,

I'm very new to both the CFDEM project and Ubuntu. Now I'm trying to get the CFDEM working on my computer.
I was able to follow the instructions:
https://www.cfdem.com/media/CFDEM/docu/CFDEMcoupling_Manual.html#id2
However, when I get to foamSystemCheck, I get the error message ;

foamSystemCheck: command not found

If I keep going and ignore this, I also get the same error messages (command not found) for 'cfdemSysTest' and 'cfdemCompCFDEMall'.
Could anyone advise me about which part is missing?
Thanks :)

Hi,

this error should not worry you. For me it also does not work, however, OpenFOAM and other stuff are compiled and working properly.
Thanks for the hint. Looks like this foamSystemCheck was deprecated in OpenFOAM-5.x

Please check if you did everything correct in ~/.bashrc file (paths, etc.) and compiled OpenFOAM properly

Hi Alexander,
Thank you for your advice. I made a mistake in the bashrc file.

Hello, I also have the same problem when I input foamSystemCheck. I have also checked ~/.bashrc file but I don't know where is the mistake. Or where could be the problem?

The error occurred because I was using Ubuntu 22.04LTS instead of Ubuntu 20.04 as recommended

leyiuu | Fri, 05/10/2024 - 08:01

HI, my Ubuntu version is also 20.04 LTS. I have also encountered similar problems. Can you tell me how you ultimately resolved it
