Cfdem in parallel

Submitted by rfbrpr on Fri, 04/19/2013 - 13:53

Hello:

Just a simple question. When I run CFDEM in parallel I have to put in file parCFDDEMrun.sh the required number of processors. Additionally I have to put it in decomposeParDict for OpenFOAM. Then my question is, do I have to put the number of processors in file in.liggghts_init of LIGGGHTS using the command processors?.

Best regards.

Hello Rafael,
As long as the in.liggghts_init file serves the initialization of a case (cf. e.g. ergunMPI) the number of processors can be chosen arbitrarily. As soon as we have a coupled copmutation, the number of processors has to match and also to be set in the liggghts-input file.
Cheers,
Alice

Hi Raphael,

it's recommended to set the processors also in th in.* file (processors 1 2 1), otherwise the decomposition is automatically done.
