Just wanted to give some kudos for the .auto Makefile in the current version of LIGGGHTS. I do not know how long it has been there, but it tremendously simplified the installation of CFDEM.
It is specially useful when I am assisting my students during installation in their machines.

I developed the Makefile.auto about one year ago, because as you, I was annoyed with the state of the installation. We know that installation and compilation should just work and not give users a headache in the first minutes with LIGGGHTS. I'm very happy to hear that we succeeded with that and we will continue to improve the Makefile.auto to reach a wider userbase.
