Bug in LIGGGHTS 3.5.0?

Submitted by MiRa on Mon, 09/12/2016 - 13:21

Hello everyone,

I just updated from LIGGGHTS 3.4.1 to 3.5 and came across the following problem:

When using the fix "insert/rate/region" with option "all_in yes", my model crashes with the error "Fix insert: Region volume calculation with MC failed (../fix_insert_rate_region.cpp:101)".

With "all_in no", everything works fine. I was able to use the option "all_in yes" with LIGGGHTS 3.4.1.

Kind regards,
MiRa

Hi MiRa,

then the insertion volume is probably just to small. I'll add a more descriptive error message for the next release!
EDIT: A short note on version consistency: In 3.4.1 it could happen that the last particle to be inserted did not fulfil the "all_in" rule, that's why we needed to make some changes

Thanks!
Christoph

Hi Christoph,

thank you for your reply! So your changes led to the demand for larger insertion region volumes? It seems like the size of my insertion region must have been right at the limit...

Kind regards,
MiRa

Hi MiRa,

>>It seems like the size of my insertion region must have been right at the limit...
Yes, most probably. We'll add more info to the error msg for the next release!

Cheers
Christoph
