This issue should only be related to the liggghts version coming as *.tar. (will be fixed soon)
For the GIT version it should be fine.

changed it for the tarball
changed it for the tarball now also. It's always a bit challenging to keep backward compatibility, but we try best :)
anyway, I would recommend using git for LIGGGHTS.
