Mesh problems when changing solver

Hi,

I am simulating a fluidized bed column using CFDEM. Few months ago I was solving the problem with the solverIB, using a cylindrical block structured mesh. When I tried to change the solver (to solverPiso), I started having problems to use the same mesh I was using before. The solverPiso works fine when I construct a square-base column. But when I try to use the cylindrical mesh, the solverPiso presents problems. I already double checked the mesh, and since I was already using it to solve the case with the solverIB, I don't think it is bad constructed.

Does anybody have any idea what could be happening?

Hi Gabriela,
are you trying to run the same case, i.e. also the same properties for the particles? Did you check the particle size / cell size ratio?
Otherwise I can recommend to look at the mesh of ErgunTestMPI, which is a block structured cylindrical mesh as well. Generally there are no known issues in that direction.

I followed your suggestion and adapted the mesh from ErgunTestMPI. It worked very well!
