Unable to install Starter version on Windows Server 2012

I am trying to install on Windows Server 2012. The installer simply freezes after I click Next on the End User License Agreement screen. I have tried to run it in compatibility mode with settings for Windows 8 and Windows 7, but no luck. I am unfortunately losing my evaluation period due to this.

Hello Max,
CFDEM(R)workbench is currently not supporting Windows Server. I would suggest installing it on a "normal" Windows (minimal Windows 7, optimal Windows 10). Regarding the validity of your license: no worries, once you managed to install the software, you can easily prolong it (for free). If the license expires before you have the chance to install it, please do not hesitate to request a new one.

Additional remark: please check your antivirus software - are there any notifications concerning the CFDEM(R)workbench? This mights also cause troubles - independently from the server version...

I was able to install it on another Desktop. It asks for the key and the proxy server (our company uses one) details. It however fails to authenticate. Perhaps because we need to open up some port or unblock your license server from this end. I would appreciate if I can be provided the license server IP.
Secondly, after prompting for a couple of times for license verification, it no longer asks for it and gives an error immediately upon opening it. It says "License check failed for an unknown error".

I have uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple of times but I am getting the same error. It does not ask for license key anymore.

Hello Max,
Can you send us an e-mail to workbench@dcs-computing.com containing your license key and the e-mail address you have used for the registration?
Can you confirm me that you are using a proxy server to connect to Internet?

Yes there is a proxy server at work. I finally gave up on it and installed it at home. I hope I will be able to try it out well enough in the limited time left. Looking for some tutorial..

Hi Max,

let us check if there is a bug using the registration through a proxy server.
Can you help us by sending your log files? They are in "CFDEMworkbenchInstallDir"\CFDEMworkbenchInstallation\logs (you can zip the whole "logs" dir and send it to workbench@dcs-computing.com with your license key and the e-mail address you have used for the registration).
