Hi All,
I met a post-processing problems after CFDEM running. After the coupling running, two figures will bump up and I could check the results in paraview, however, sometimes if I close the figures and paraview, the dump*.** files in the DEM/post will disappear. It happens sometimes but not always! I am not sure where is the problem. Does anyone else have the same problem, and how to fix it? Thanks so much for the help and suggestions!
Thanks!
Kun

Good morning,
Good morning,
if you run the cases with cfdemTestTUT, all the files generated are deleted again, after the generated files are closed again. This happens on purpose, as the complete run of all cases is only meant for testing the successful installation. If you'd like to work with one (ore more) of the cases, just copy the files to your user-directory. If you launch the case with the Allrun-script, or manually, the resulting files will persist.
Cheers,
Alice

hi alice
Hi Alice,
Thanks for your reply. I did copy the file to my directory and use ./Allrun.sh to run my test case. I just copy the examples to my own directory and modified to my case. But it still happens. For the test case, could you show me which file is written to do this on purpose?
Thanks!
Kun

Good morning,
Good morning,
in the case directory you find a file called parCFDDEMrun.sh, which is called by the allrun script. At the bottom of the file you find a couple of lines starting with "rm". If you comment the whole block, no data is deleted.
Cheers,
Alice

Dear Alice,
Dear Alice,
thank you for your kind explanations!
@ Kun: there is no magic happening behind the scenes - all commands that are executed can be found in the Allrun (bash) scripts.
Kind Regards,
Chris

Hi Chris
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your help and instruction. I have read the file of parCFDDEMrun.sh, and knew where the delete commands have been written.
Thanks so much!
Kun
