Hi all
Just wondering if it might be possible to couple Liggghts and Fluent. I'm not really familiar with either package and most of my experience is in running simple models in CFX. I have managed to get Liggghts setup which I'm proud of since I'm a complete Linux newbie. My university has a lot of Fluent die-hards and I get asked this question a bit.

Hi T,
this can be done (See some publications of C Kloss and me), but but not with the CFDEM framework and not as good as provided with the open source CFDEM framework.
Cheers,

More refrences
Dear Chris,
Could you please reference here one of your publications which LIGGGHTS and Fluent have been coupled with together ?
I tryed to find them but unfortunately I couldn't :(
Now I have my own code in CFDEM and I need to compare it with LIGGGHTS_FLUENT results for special case.
Thank in advance,
Regards,
Ebrahim

LIGGGHTS and Fluent(R) have not been coupled, we had an in-house coupling of Fluent (R) and a commercial DEM code
I would rather recommend that you use physical test cases with known analytic solutions (particle settling, bed pressure drop, shear flow...) to validate your approach
