Hello everybody,
I have just recently installed LIGGGHTS and CFDEM. I successfully run the available tutorial cases using both "cfdemTestTUT" and "./Allrun.sh" commands, it gave me some graphs and lists of numbers as a results.
But I still not sure how to present the results using paraview. Are all the available tutorial cases can be presented using paraview or only some of them?
I used paraview with Liggghts before and I also re-installed it with OPENFOAM again but I do not know if I need to set new alias again here to run these tutorials ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Luton

Hi Luton,
Hi Luton,
you can try to create a mycase.foam file in the CFD Folder and load this in PV (the file does not need any content)
I usually type touch mycase.foam && paraview
The Particle Data (if dumped) are in DEM/post/

Christian

Hi Christian, thank you for
Hi Christian, thank you for your reply.
I- I created a mycase.foam file as you suggested and loaded it in paraview but the particles cannot be seen.
II- I also loaded the dumped files with mycase.foam file but I still cannot see the particles.
III- The only way that I can see the particles is when I loaded only the dumped files.
So which one of these cases are the correct way to show the particles simulation, and if I loaded only the dumped files on PV (for future work) will that change any thing in the simulation compared to if I loaded them with mycase.foam file?
One more thing, regarding runing the tutorial cases, I get the dumped files only for the first case "cfdemPostproc" . Are these tutorial originally designed like that or I am having some problems with my installation so I did not get dumped files for the other tutorial cases ?
Thanks again
Best Regards,
Luton

Hi Luton,
Hi Luton,
in the tutorial cases you find in case/CFD/system a file called controlDict.foam
Open that one in paraview to show the case data.
Note:
-in paraview you should find in the window mesh regions (lower left) a checkbox named lagrangian/particleCloud - this is the particle data!
-when closing the graphs, the data of the case will be deleted.
-for time 0 there is no particle data
Kind regards,
