Dear all,
I read all the references for the Hertz contact force model in the LIGGGHTS documentation 3.X, but I can not find the reference for the model constants gamma_n and gamma_t. In the papers I read there is no sqrt(5/6) in the gamma_n.
I want to know where the model constants come from. Is there anybody who can help me out?

The best consens I was able to find
The best consens I was able to find was with the paper "Lagrangian Numerical Simulation of Plug Flow of Cohesionless Particles in a Horizonal Pipe - Tsuji, Tanaka and Ishida (1991)".
If one takes the damping coefficient defined in this paper in terms of the coefficient of restitution (eq. 31), one can conduct a comparison of coefficients with the damping constant in the LIGGGHTS manual.
With the information gained one can recreate the plot in Fig. 4.
Maybe somebody else has found the exact formulation of the model parameters in another reference and would like to share this?
